    The Bronx Defenders – an innovative, progressive, holistic indigent defense office in the South Bronx – seeks an energetic advocate with a commitment to social justice to serve as a licensed process server. The Process Server will be required to serve subpoenas throughout the Bronx and the greater New York City metro area.  


    • Serve persons, corporations, and governmental agencies with legal documents‬
    • Deliver legal documents to court for filing‬‬
    • Obtain legal documents, records and other items from courts, schools, hospitals, businesses, and governmental agencies
    • Assist in assembling legal documents
    • Prepare affidavits of service, notices of motion, and other routine legal documents


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be able to obtain Process Server Individual License (DCA)‬‬
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Ability and willingness to travel within all five boroughs of New York and the tri-state area
    • Ability to stay organized and meet rigid deadlines
    • Ability to work independently
    • Excellent interpersonal skills (i.e., active listening, negotiation, persuasion)‬‬
    • Excellent analytical skills (i.e., critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making)‬‬


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1 year of law-related experience
    • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Drive for Office (G Suite)‬‬
    • Spanish language proficiency


    Salary commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits.
